One thing the Carnival Elation does not offer, and which I really missed, was a walking track area. Technically, you can do “laps” on Deck 11, which overlooks the pool, but it passes through the smoking area, which was crowded. Another attraction for kids is the Carnival Elation arcade, where kids can while away the hours (and your money, so remember to set a limit) on racing games, games of skill and air hockey. The deck is covered with lounge chairs so parents have a good view of their kids splashing around. There are plenty of things to do on Carnival Elation, but your sailing can be as busy or as relaxing as you'd like it to be. For those who want to be active, you can play in the water park, compete in a ping-pong tournament or join in many of the entertainment crew-led fun. If you're looking to relax, you can spend time on the Serenity Deck, hit up the library or just work on your tan around the pool. At night, take in a show in the main theater or enjoy the live music located around the ship. There are tons of things for children and families to enjoy, from toddlers, all the way up to teens. Our favorite place to eat casual meals was outside behind Tiffany’s Restaurant (near the rear sports bar and the pizza place). All kids who cruise on Carnival get a wrist band (ankle band for babies) for their safety, particularly if they’re enjoying Carnival Cruise kid activities when an emergency happens. Additionally, the showerhead broke on the second day of the cruise. I had never had this issue before, and it was a huge inconvenience, as it broke when my partner was in the shower. Since I had yet to shower, I had to maneuver the broken handle, which ended up getting water everywhere.

During our cruise, most of these games were in full swing at all times, although the mini-golf course was shut down one day due to high winds. Some of those options are a set price and some have a la cart menu pricing. 70% of the dining options are included which means if you're watching your budget, you won't feel like you're missing out by not going to a lot of extra fee dining places. The Elation can hold 2,052 based on double occupancy (two people per room) and more when you take into account 3rd and 4th passengers.
